Receiving a DWI (Driving While Impaired) can be a daunting experience, but it doesn’t necessarily mean you have a substance use disorder or are an alcoholic. At Breathe, a Center for Wellness, we understand that each individual’s situation is unique, and we’re here to provide the support and education you need.
Understanding DWIs in North CarolinaIn North Carolina, if you’re convicted of a DWI, you must undergo a substance use assessment and complete either an education or treatment program1. The severity of the penalties can vary based on factors such as your blood alcohol concentration (BAC) at the time of arrest and any prior offenses2.
Our Approach: Prime for Life CurriculumAt Breathe, we use the Prime for Life curriculum, an evidence-based program designed to help individuals understand their relationship with alcohol and drugs. This program is nonjudgmental and focuses on self-assessment and personal growth.
Prime for Life helps you:
  • Assess Your Risk: Understand whether your drinking or drug use is putting you at risk for health or legal problems.
  • Make Informed Choices: Learn strategies for making safer choices in the future, whether that means drinking in moderation or abstaining altogether.
  • Protect What Matters: Identify and protect the things you value most in life by making healthier decisions.
Why Choose Breathe? At Breathe, we believe in providing a supportive and nonjudgmental environment. Whether you’re looking to learn how to drink responsibly or need help making better choices, we’re here to guide you every step of the way.

Love this list! Northern California has some excellent rehab centers with holistic programs. It’s helpful to see more options being discussed – especially for people seeking nature-based or trauma-informed approaches.
