🧭 Start Here: What to Do After a DWI in North Carolina  Getting a DWI can feel overwhelming — but you don’t have to go through this alone.
At Breathe, we guide you through every step so you can meet your DMV and court requirements and move forward with peace of mind.
Here’s how it works:
  1. Schedule Your Assessment
Every DWI in North Carolina requires a substance use assessment before you can get your license back. We can complete this by phone or Zoom — often the same week you contact us.
  2. Receive Your Recommendation
After your assessment, we’ll tell you exactly what level of class or treatment you need (ADETS, Short-Term, Longer-Term, Intensive Outpatient or Inpatient Treatment).
  3. Begin Your Classes
We offer convenient evening and weekend Zoom sessions, and in-person options when needed.
  4. We File Everything for You
Once you complete your program and your balance is paid, we electronically submit your completion to the state — this is called a 508 filing. You don’t have to handle that paperwork yourself.

"Breathe is a great place! If you need out of state help with your DUI issues they are great. Alana made it easy and kept me informed through the process. They gathered my NC records for me, and guided me through the process. Great folks and wonderful service. Thank you Breathe."-JT

"This place was amazing and I cannot say enough good things about it and the people running it . I originally signed up at a big place in Charlotte and it was twice as expensive and I felt like I was treated unfairly and it felt impossible to do the classes . I found breathe and everything was so smooth and so easy and was very affordable the person who does the classes is great I learned so much and you can tell that it’s more then just a class and she cares and is understanding , helpful , and just a all around good person . So glad this is all behind me now and I highly recommend breathe ."-BK
