Assessments and Treatment
It’s all in our name. Breathe. We will walk and help you through this process. We are fully licensed by NC DWI Services and will assist you with your assessment and treatment in a professional, confidential and timely manner. One of our goals at Breathe is to create a safe and peaceful environment, in order to meet this goal we keep our class sizes small. We know this can be a stressful time for clients, and we are here to you through this process Breathe will often complete an assessment the day you call to request an appointment. The cost of all NC DWI Assessments is $100. The $100 fee is established by the Legislature of the State of NC. Please contact us about Out of State DWI's.
What to bring to your appointment
-DWI assessment fee of 100.00(Cash, Money Order, or Credit Card. We do not accept personal checks)
-Copy of citation/ticket
-Driving record or $10.00 to obtain driving record

A confidential clinical interview with one of our counselors is conducted to determine the need for, and level of, education or treatment services. Included in the process is the administration of a national standardized questionnaire as an adjunct to the assessment process.
State Rules require that a Substance Abuse assessment is valid for only 6 months. Treatment or ADETS must be started prior to 6 months from the date of the assessment or a whole new assessment will be required at a full cost of $100.
Alcohol Drug Education Traffic School is a 16-hour program offered once monthly. This class is for clients that haven't had a prior DWI charge with a blood alcohol reading of .14 or less, and didn't refuse the Breathalyzer. Also, clients that do not have a substance use disorder. Our next class meets on Thursday, April 25th from 5-9pm, Saturday, April 27th 9-1:00, Sunday, April 28th 9-1:00, Wednesday, May 1st 5-9 pm. Short-Term Outpatient Treatment 20-39 hours
Hours are determined based on the results of your assessment. This is accordance with guidelines that have been issued by NCDWI Services. NCDWI services regulates DWI assessments and treatment. Breathe holds Short-Term Outpatient on Saturdays from 9am-12pm. Short on time? We've been approved for a pilot program as well. Another option would to be to attend ADETs and then attend 2 additional sessions. This level of care must be completed in 30 days but no more than 45 days. The fees are $20.00 per hour, plus $25.00 for the Prime For Life Book. You will receive $50.00 off if you pay upfront.
Longer-Term Outpatient Treatment 40-89 hours
Hours are determined based on the results of your assessment. This is in accordance with guidelines that have been issued by NCDWI Services. NCDWI service regulates DWI assessments and treatment. Breathe holds Longer-Term Outpatient on Saturdays 9am-12pm. This level of care must be completed in no less than 60 days but no more than 90 days. The fees are $20.00 per hour, plus $25.00 for the Prime For Life Book. You will receive $50.00 off if you pay upfront.
DWI: Living Outside of North Carolina
In order to get your license back, you must complete a substance abuse assessment, and the recommended education or treatment. If you complete a substance abuse assessment and the required education or treatment outside of North Carolina, you must use a North Carolina DWI services provider to review and approve it. This is so you will be clear as to what North Carolinas requirements are, call us to begin your services.
